The site (how to choose)
The venue where the wedding reception is to be held
greatly determines how the event is going to turn out.
A grand venue may definitely provide the right ambience
for a spectacular evening, but might not fit into everyone’s
budget. Each couple may pick a venue based upon their
personal preference and needs. Though a cousin or friend’s
wedding reception site might have been the best one
for him or her, it might not be what you are looking
for. Most dream sites cost a fortune, so unless you
have saved every penny and dollar for the big day, you
will have to compromise on the reception site. In case
of a destination wedding, you can leave all of these
responsibilities to your wedding planner. You could
ask around or even check at the bridal store or online
sources to gather information regarding the wedding
party.
How to choose
Once you are more or less certain about the number
of wedding guests you are expecting, you can select
a reception site that can comfortably accommodate all
of your guests. Then again there is the money aspect
to everything you choose to do. Look around in your
vicinity to see what’s the best deal you can get.
Check with relatives to see if you can use a spare farmhouse
or the likes. It is much simpler to find a reception
site in the city itself, especially with so many rental
reception sites being advertised
Commuting
When selecting a reception site, it’s important
that you find a venue that’s easy to find and
doesn’t cause your guests to reach midway through
you party.
Easy rentals
Though booking a reception site is an essential part
of the wedding, it’s important to realize that
there is a substantial booking amount you are required
to pay. You should enquire about the payment options
available and choose a venue wherein you could pay in
easy part payments or make a down payment, followed
by installments.
Package deals
Certain reception site owners may take on the responsibility
of decorating the venue for you. This can be a great
option as someone else will be totally responsible for
venue decorations in exchange of a service fee.
This includes:
- Arranging for the wedding band
- Hiring a wedding singer
- Decorating with wedding flowers
- Preventing wedding crashers
- Coordinating the wedding party
- Constructing a platform for you to exchange your
wedding vows
- Arranging for a wedding shower.
In case you are a church member, you could even book
the church hall for your reception. In such a situation,
you are not required to make exorbitant payments but
could choose to pay a certain amount to the church fund.
When deciding on a reception venue, do consult all
your friends and family so as to be able to make a wise
decision. It isn’t necessary that you hire a very
expensive venue because basic decorations can transform
even the simplest of venues. The local community center
might also be a good option for a reasonably priced
hall that you could rent for the wedding reception.
